Welcome to the revitalized DMC Motorsport!

On these pages I am going to be sharing with you the events and adventures that I'm lucky enough to be able to take part in! I'll also be featuring my current weapon of choice, the BMW M3 CSL.

Ever since I can remember I have been car mad. When I was about 5 years old I asked for a Pink Panther Car for Christmas and sure enough, being the lucky young lad that I was, a shiny brand new toy car was under the tree on Christmas Day. I was distraught, I had wanted a car I could get in and drive! (My Mum reminds me of this whenever Christmas presents for my children are discussed!)

Many years later my father asked if I had any interest in learning to drive and getting a car for when I was 17. My answer was yes please I'll have a Ferrari 308GTB - just like Magnum drives. (Of course later I learned it was actually a 308GTS). My father laughed and said something like "You want a Ferrari? You buy it!" (Quite reasonably enough I can now see but at the time I felt very hard done by and revised my expectations downwards to a Ford Fiesta!)

When I was 16, like a lot of my contemporaries I was keen on getting a motorbike! My dad persuaded me that if I didn't get a motorbike then he would buy me an older car for my 17th birthday (driving age in England!) On my 17th birthday I approached my dad and said, how about this car? He said "Well, you can have an old banger now (about 500 pounds worth) or if you wait until your 18th birthday you can have a nicer car, say two grand's worth. Since I hadn't even passed my test yet this seemed like a reasonable proposition! On my 18th birthday I again approached my dad about the car issue and now that I had passed my test and was earning a wage, I felt I could run a car quite reasonably! His response was, "You're working now and you can buy your own car!" When I tell this story when he's around, his response is... "Yeah but you never did get that motorbike did you?"

And he's right I haven't........yet.....

But when I was 25 I did turn up in my first ever "Supercar", a midnight blue Porsche 993 Carrera 2 with Dove Grey Leather and I've never looked back since!

My passion is for all things automotive and that includes motorsport, track days, cars, car shows and everything related. I'm extremely lucky in that I have a family who allow me to indulge my passions and a job that just about lets me afford them too!

I hope you enjoy the site and don't hesitate to drop me a line if you find anything offensive or upsetting. Equally if you particularly enjoy it or have any positive suggestions for additional content then please get in touch!!

Thanks for reading,

David
